Pickaway WORKS is a unique non-profit whose mission is to connect education, business and community to build partnerships that create relevant career pathways for students and link them with resources and opportunities to succeed. Pickaway WORKS is seeking an energetic leader to provide strategic direction and oversight for all aspects of the WORKS operations and programs. Candidates should have a strong desire to inspire and improve Pickaway County students’ college and career readiness and thus their quality of life which will ultimately improve the economic stability of the area. The ideal candidate for the Executive Director position will continue to grow WORKS in the future with the ability to cultivate a broad range of collaborative professional relationships with business and education partners, staff, board and other entities within our region.
The ideal candidate may come from a variety of career fields in either the for-profit or not-for-profit sectors and will have a passion for student growth. The ideal candidate must be a proven self-starter and demonstrate skills in strategic and organizational leadership, decision making, and relationship building. The Executive Director is a full-time position that reports directly to and works in partnership with a dedicated group of volunteer Board members. The Director will work at the Pickaway County ESC offices located at 2050 Stoneridge Dr., Circleville, Ohio.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the development, planning, organization, direction and execution of the mission of Pickaway WORKS operations and programs.
- Develop and implement consistent policies, procedures, and operational reporting/metrics.
- Develop and maintain a strong advisory board and build board engagement in program initiatives.
- Oversee and report to the Advisory Board on the organization’s progress and results.
- Coordinate and lead annual strategic planning with the Advisory Board to provide a framework for the program.
- Oversee and report to the Operations Committee on program budget and management of the compensation, supervision and evaluation of personnel employed to implement the program.
- Provide leadership to and support the efforts of staff.
- Secure annual financial contributions to the program from each school district and the Pickaway County Board of Commissioners.
- Collaborate with school administrators to develop annual goals and objectives in each partner district.
- Ensure that the funding structure is adequate to meet or exceed strategic goals and objectives agreed upon.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Pickaway County schools’ administrators, staff and key personnel to enable implementation of objectives set forth.
- Manage promotion of Pickaway WORKS through multiple media outlets (website, social media, in-person presentations, news outlets)
- Serve as leader in the program role as Business Advisory Council for all Pickaway County school districts, share best practices among the districts and strengthen the link between education and business.
- Develop and maintain business and community partnerships necessary for the success of program initiatives.
- Oversee development and implementation of a digital database for overall program management, including a stakeholder portal. This tool will also include contact and event management, marketing and data collection capabilities.

Education, Experience, Licensing Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred
- 5 years experience in related field preferred
